CurrentCHESS provides health, safety and environmental consulting services, specializing in small and medium sized companies. We determine the company's safety and health needs, develop programs to address those needs, and work with the company to implement and maintain the programs. Specific activities include:• Performing audits of company health, environmental, and safety programs.• Performing exposure evaluations for workplace exposures to noise, chemicals, and biological agents. This includes provision of recommendations for evaluation strategies, design of the monitoring job, conducting the monitoring, preparation of reports, and presentations of the results. • Developing safety and health programs, such as confined space entry, AWAIR (A Workplace Accident And Injury Reduction program), hazard communication, lockout/tagout, respiratory protection, emergency action plans, etc. • Preparing employee safety handbooks and manuals, specific to company concerns and operations.• Evaluating need for control measures; recommend appropriate personal protective equipment.• Providing effective (and not boring) training on industrial hygiene and safety issues to employees and managers, on topics such as respirator use (training and fit-testing), Right to Know/Hazard Communication, confined space, general safety awareness, electrical safety, use of personal protective equipment, etc.• Evaluating chemical hazards. Advising clients on hazards, train employees on those hazards, and prepare material safety data sheets and training guides.
