I currently work as an assistant landscape designer at Mariposa Gardening & Design Cooperative, inc. I am responsible for wasting the lead designer with design tasks, and contributing to the marketing team as a digital content creator, copywriter, and digital engagement strategist. As a storyteller and artist that inspires people to care more about the stewardship of nature, I want to create designs, stories and art that make a positive change in how people see themselves in relation with nature. I currently do this with my work at Mariposa, as I work to engage our social media audiences and work with the lead designer to create sustainable landscape designs. It is my goal to I have degrees in both conservation and design, with a specialty in multimedia journalism, from UC Berkeley. I wrote my own degree as part of the Conservation Management degree program, where I specialized in multimedia journalism, environmental communication and urban community health. This gave me unique familiarity with environmental concepts as well as design and marketing, making me uniquely equipped to communicate complex concepts in a more understandable manner. Environmental education also involves critical thinking and problem solving, which helps me approach challenges with more creativity. This passion for environmental education also helps me be an asset to companies that have a focus on sustainability and improving their corporate social responsibility, by already being aligned with and versed in environmental issues.My art practice and creativity also helps me find innovative solutions to problems, helping me approach things with a fresh perspective. It helps me express ideas visually and further aid in communication, especially in a team environment where people have different communication styles. Creativity also helps me in design roles and marketing (fields I’m interested in), as it contributes to making visually appealing content and creative copywriting.
