At the Business of Life Skills, we teach teens essential skills so that they can function independently and successfully after high school. Understanding how the most common situational processes work will help our kids make better-informed decisions that can ultimately affect their lives (and ours) legally and financially in the long run. In other words, I want to ensure that our teens and young adults are better prepared for life.Everyone can benefit from these courses including high school and college graduates, men and women of the military, and all those who age out of the foster care system. My skills and experience as an author, an IT Professional, a skilled presenter, and an inveterate advice-giver/former single Mom, all give me the confidence I need to accomplish that goal. I have been training software applications since DOS was cool and before training companies popped up on every block. Which means that most of what I know has been self-taught and fueled by the self-starting, motivated personality type that I am. My software knowledge ranges from automotive estimating, project management and finance to all MS Office applications and any custom software that the Ken Blanchard Companies could come up with.In my "spare" time I enjoy giving advice (who doesn't?) but when situations come up in my world over and over again I'm motivated to write it all down just to make it easier to repeat. As a result, I'm an author of five books published so far (mentioned below under "publications") and have another one on my back burner.On a personal note, I am the proud mother of two young, successful adults and grandmother of five beautiful children. My husband, Tom, and I have recently become residents of the Nevada desert and absolutely love it!
