PIVOT, PIVOT, PIVOT…remember the Friends episode? Well maybe they were only trying to get a couch upstairs but life seems to be about doing a lot of pivoting.Being flexible and seizing the opportunity is how I managed a 20+ year career in sales with a brokerage turned asset management firm. I was fortunate to have a front row seat of an expanding company and I was lucky enough to be sitting in the seat marked sales. During my tenure I developed sales skills including prospecting, discovery, cadence and negotiating. I developed the confidence to call on bank CEO’s in my 20’s, to participate in industry panels and grow long lasting relationships. Shoot, I even took golf lessons and learned about sports teams from every city. By the way I stink at golf but still love following sports.PIVOT again…after a very successful career I decided I was ready for a change in scenery and thought it would be fun to own a retail store for teens and young adults. We recycled clothes and accessories, my employees were all young and fun. I learned how to advertise and post on social media. I learned how to successfully run a small business (do’s and don’ts). I also learned after 8 years that retail was not my bag. I have the upmost respect for people working in retail, it is hard and at times unforgiving and the hours sorta suck!PIVOT again…I have been given the opportunity to take all my years of experience and knowledge and use it to help other professional sale people and businesses improve productivity and increase revenue. Being a trusted advisor who can help target the right people, create a prospecting cadence, help build relationships and be a motivator are just a few of the ways I can help increase revenue. This pivot is all about helping others which provides me with an abundance of gratification.PIVOT one last time...this is a full circle moment! I'm excited to become a Garnet Capital team member and to be in a position to help Garnet clients achieve their desired financial goals through asset valuations and successful loan trades.
