My interest is the application of scientific modelling to help companies understand and manage natural catastrophe risk at all scales from site level to global. I love nothing more than a business problem that poses a technical challenge and I’m at my happiest when I’m leading a team of people with a wide range of skills and interests to deliver a challenging project to time and budget. I’ve been at JBA for 10 years and am proud to have been a founding director of JBA Risk Management Limited. Since we formed the company, it has grown from just 18 to over 70 people and we have extended our client base to tens of companies across the globe. Our product range now includes everything from the design of flood defences at individual properties to flood mapping worldwide and a global flood event set. We’re rightly viewed as leaders in flood risk mapping, modelling and management, yet still offer bespoke services, refreshing flexibility and open collaboration to our clients. I’ve most recently become a director of JBA Risk Management Inc., our California-based company focussed on the provision of today’s highest quality flood data for the US to the US market.Outside of work, my passion is for wild places and I’m also a qualified International Mountain Leader who can take you trekking in some of the secret corners of our planet.
