Everyone wants a job they love. There is a real connection between the job you do and your quality of life, so it didn't take me long to realise, that a job in the travel industry could fulfill my love of travelling and provide an exciting career as well.I centered my higher education on Travel and Tourism, and my first "real" job was a trainee Travel Agent. Since then, I have worn many hats in my 25 years in the travel industry, from Sales Agent, to Regional Sales Manager, Field Sales Manager, Senior Sales Manager, Head of Sales, Sales Director and currently VP Business Development. All those roles have two things in common - sales and managing teams. As a result, I have strong leadership qualities with excellent negotiating and influencing skills with the ultimate purpose to deliver on defined objectives. I like to develop the people I manage, always being accessible, to create a team that performs to the highest standards, that consistently receives compliments from the customers/agents.I make the place of work fun and productive, with an ability to use humour to defuse tense situations and keep people focused on the end goal. I am a problem solver, always looking for a solution and when I have ideas, I execute them well and with creativity. I build strong, lasting relationships both internally and externally with all levels of stakeholders, building a rapport based on honesty and trust.And whilst I'm not working in the career I love, I do the one thing that made me want to work in the industry in the first place..... I travel and I see the world.
