About Janet Schieferdecker, Mba
What can be done to change the game? What levels the playing field and helps humans to live in balance with nature and in connection with themselves, others, and the planet? My belief is that coaching is one of the key levers to create positive change. Other levers include finance, energy, education, housing, and food. That is why I focus my coaching practice on social ventures that are active in these areas, to leverage the leverage.Too often I find remarkable people who are dedicating their careers to social justice but creating too much drama by HOW they are leading. Human beings can get stuck or hijacked by patterns of behavior that no longer serve them. Horses offer non-judgemental feedback and help us to find our own authentic presence. They help us to learn the impact of our energy on others and create a powerful reference experience of who we actually want to be and what we want to project. Inflection points can be tough. When you are just about to break through to the next level, it often feels like there is a lot of resistance. You yearn for growth, for change, maybe for things to be better, but the task can feel overwhelming or elusive. At Choice Point Leadership we begin most engagements with the Positive Intelligence mental fitness program. Just like going to a gym--but for your brain--this foundational mindset mastery program helps people to recognize when they are in a sabotaging pattern and builds the muscle to get out.The Sage Leader program builds on this foundation with six modules of material that help individuals and small teams perform more effectively. The program is flexible and can be done either individually or as a group. Horse-Assisted Education is a key part of the Sage Leader program. Conducted sales forecasting and prepared sales targets for each country with sales manager input. Negotiated transfer pricing between Philips, the OEM manufacturers and the country managers. Accelerated sales from a zero base of business to over $15M per annum. After evaluating the distribution channels and logistics, significantly reduced the order response time from several weeks to same day. Produced an effective order tracking system using MS Access. Hired a department assistant to manage growing sales, service and parts tracking support needs. By coaching the new hire and sending her to logistics training, she was promoted to the Logistics Manager role within a couple of years.
Asia Region Marketing Manager
Planned, directed and performed qualitative and quantitative market research in China. Collected secondary data from external sources and completed 35 interviews with physicians concerning the Philips surgical C-Arm fluoroscopy equipment. This project helped create a new market for the product by establishing a joint Chinese venture partner and assembly facility. Invited 50 radiologists at 20 hospitals to utilize a new x-ray table and then participate in face-to-face interviews. The results of the study indicated that Philips could not compete on price or quality in this market despite having invested $1M in beta testing equipment. The equipment was shelved prior to market, saving the company millions of dollars in marketing and production costs.
Project Manager

Conducted interviews on-site at business schools in Europe. Recruited talent and mentored new managers hired into the program. The successful program was exported to other divisions. Completed telephone interviews with 50 country sales managers from Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America in collaboration with a colleague. By combining primary data with third party marketing data, performed a strategic market analysis to understand these fast growing segments of the global marketplace. Prepared a comprehensive report and co-delivered presentations to senior management. The report furnished evidence that these markets represented an untapped opportunity. The report also provided support for the creation of regional offices and organization of division sales and service staff. Benchmarked GE Capital, a competitor that had successfully established a loan program for capital medical equipment customers, on behalf of the Regional Director of Latin America. The purpose of the project was to determine how to make capital equipment purchases more affordable for Latin America hospitals.
