Janet Yap was a retired managing director from Accenture Technology. She has built her 30+ year career in Technology spanning various industries such as Consumer Goods & Services, Telecommunications & Media, Travel & Transportation, Utilities and Oil & Gas. A versatile leader, Janet relocated to Accenture China (Hong Kong office) in 1995 where she led the Enterprise Business Solutions group covering Greater China. Six years later, she moved to Singapore to work with clients in Oil & Gas and Utilities.Janet returned to Kuala Lumpur in 2003 to establish the Accenture Technology Solutions group, which has now been reorganized as Accenture Technology; and was one of the largest workforce in Accenture Malaysia.Janet is passionate about diversity-related causes and was the first woman to helm the Country Managing Director post in Accenture Malaysia. She also led the company in the areas of Inclusion & Diversity and Corporate Social Responsibility. She was actively involved as a mentor for the ICAEW’s Women in Leadership 2015 program and a member of the steering committee for The 30% Club, Malaysian chapter. She was also a member of the Board of Governors in AMCHAM. After her retirement from Accenture, Janet joined Cancer Research Malaysia as its CEO from 2020 to 2021.Currently, Janet is serving as a board member in the board of OCBC and a board trustee in World Vision Malaysia. She is also a mentor at the Malaysia Australia Business Council mentoring program. Janet worships at Emmanuel Methodist Church and is the Youth Chief Counsellor for the Youth ministry in Emmanuel. Janet enjoys spending time with her daughter learning about anime and gaming. She is an avid collector of new tech gadgets, a big fan of Star Wars, BTS, and reads many science fantasy books.
