Library Technician - Accessibility
CurrentAccessibility Services* Coordinate library support services for patrons with variety of print impairments.* Search CELA, NNELS, Illume and Voila databases for appropriate materials.* Assist in use of adaptive and assistive technologies (e.g. DAISY players, EasyReader and other accessibility apps)* Outreach: promote library services at local White Cane Society meeting; organize projects that highlight accessibility issues to the community, e.g. CNIB's Phone it Forward Program.Reference* Reader’s advisory, collection development, and instruction and assistance to library users on information resources and technology.* Circulation desk duties. Includes scheduling service desks, and training circulation staff.* Process interlibrary loans.* Prepared and co-presented information literacy talk, "Fake News," at Elder College and other public venues.Cataloguing* Copy and original cataloguing of library resource formats using RDA, MARC21, AACR2 standards.* Contribute and adhere to shared cataloguing standards in a consortium environment.
