I recently graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor's in Tourism Management, a minor in Business, and an emphasis on event planning. I am passionate about live music events and plan to pursue this passion by working at these events, pursuing my passion for event planning, working in lighting engineering, audio engineering, and stage crew.I have 6+ years of volunteer experience working different volunteer positions at different events including SXSW, the Brazos Valley Wedding Expo, and Van’s Warped Tour, just to name a few. My duties at these events included using verbal communication and bilingual skills to check-in and answered questions from a diverse group of attendees and vendors, being responsible for supervising and maintaining the event grounds orderly through the constant use of waste management in a teamwork setting, participating in the setup and teardown of informational signage following verbal and written instructions, and assisting bands in loading and unloading performance equipment of 50+ lbs.I have 6+ years experience as a waitress, where I was later promoted to restaurant manager. As the manager, I led employee meetings, trained new workers, and tended to customer concerns. I also maintained the technology systems to decrease down-time by 15%, and collaborated in the creation of marketing projects for the restaurant, which led to a 10% increase in sales, among other tasks.I have a passion for live music events and while I took an introductory course in lighting engineering, audio engineering, and woodshop, I furthered my skills during my internship at a local venue being an audio and light engineer. While in school, I had joined multiple student organizations related to music. In one of the organizations, I was part of a team responsible for setting up and running the audio for live music events on campus. I am interested in gaining more experience in the lighting and audio engineering side of live music events and am excited to enter into this career field.
