In my first year as the General Manager of Century Casino Calgary, my initiatives improved the property's cash flow, increased its overall EBITDA, and increased customer volumes on the family entertainment side. In November 2017, we opened a mini golf course with private party rooms, which led to Century Bowling's rebranding as Century Sports. In addition, my initiatives as GM included improving our internal operations with enhanced security measures, which included card-access locked doors and an updated surveillance system.

When I joined Century as part of the original management team that opened Century Downs Racetrack and Casino in April 2015, I had the opportunity to establish the marketing department from the ground up. This included hiring and training my teams, including the casino's Customer Service team, and managing the casino's opening events, growth initiatives and marketing campaigns. As Marketing Manager, I was responsible for business development and marketing strategy for Century Downs Racetrack and Casino. Our marketing objectives included developing targeted campaigns to introduce the casino into the Calgary market, reach specific demographics, attract new horse racing fans, and grow the sport of racing within Calgary and the surrounding area.

As the Calgary Flames' in-house photographer, I photographed all player relations events, such as visits to the Alberta Children's Hospital, community ribbon-cutting ceremonies with Calgary's Mayor, and the Flames Foundation for Life's numerous charitable events, including celebrity golf and poker tournaments. In addition to event photography, I was commissioned to photograph three seasons of Calgary Flames (NHL) players in FanAttic Store merchandise for the seasonal sales catalogues. My photographs were also used for backlit posters, advertisements within the Scotiabank Saddledome and throughout the City of Calgary, and online advertising campaigns. In my final season with the Flames, I photographed the Calgary Stampeders (CFL) players in Stamps Store merchandise for marketing and advertising purposes. Other aspects of my job include copy-editing the Calgary Flames and Hitmen yearbooks, game-day lineup sheets, pocket schedules, and related marketing material.

As publisher of Ahrens Editions, an innovative independent art-photography publishing company, I was heavily involved in the creative process. I ensured the highest quality while collaborating with clients to help them materialize their visions. I am resourceful and innovative in solving problems. I am passionate about bringing ideas and possibilities to life. I am particularly drawn to inspirational subjects that stretch and expand my creative scope and acumen.

While working with Gerhard Steidl, I produced and prepared the layout design for the Steidl seasonal catalogue. The catalogue, which is highly anticipated among photo book aficionados, contains 200+ pages of artist and book features, including Karl Lagerfeld's own imprint, "Edition 7L." I developed skills in Photoshop and photo retouching to create multi-layered images, conceptual photo montages, and contrived scenes according to the art direction. This allowed me to play a large role in airbrushing the Chanel and Fendi advertising images for magazine layouts, including Vogue, Vanity Fair, and Marie Claire, fashion catalogues, and airport/retail billboard signage. I am comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced environment. I can prioritize and work efficiently and accurately on several projects at once, handling large volumes of work.
