Senior Manager, Media

Current

Brisbane City, Queensland, Australia

Leading BDO's media team and the firm's presence across online, offline and broadcast media channels. #brand #reputation #management #media #pr #corporateaffairsI play a key role in shaping and managing BDO’s public image and corporate communication strategies. My responsibilities include overseeing media relations, crafting corporate messaging, and ensuring consistent and effective communication with stakeholders. I also lead initiatives to enhance BDO’s reputation in the media, manage crisis communications, and support strategic business objectives through media and corporate affairs efforts. My experience and expertise helps BDO to maintain its positive brand presence in the market.

Jul 2021 - Present

National Media Adviser

Brisbane, Australia

As National Media Adviser I am responsible for managing BDO’s image and reputation in the media – whether it is broadcast, print, online or social. Moving BDO from an agency approach to an in-house operation in 2016, I continue to provide a consultancy-style approach and implement both proactive and reactive communication and media tactics and strategies by working closely with national leaders, sector and service line leaders as well as senior partners (and developing spokespeople) across BDO’s network in Australia. Building trusted relationships with key national journalists in the financial services and business sectors is paramount in this role and I’ve successfully achieved this as evidenced by a significant increase in the number of direct calls and requests from prominent national journalists and reporters (and a significant increase in the value of coverage across national media outlets for BDO). In addition to day-to-day media liaison, I also handle complex media questioning and coordinate the corporate affairs response to any issues/crisis situations. I also take time to work closely with the local marketing team(s) to ensure positive media coverage is amplified across all BDO online and social media platforms; increasing awareness of BDO’s expertise and capabilities in Australia.
