I am a Somerset girl through and through, from my farmer accent to my love of decent cider enjoyed with a sunset over our stunning scenery. I only left to do my 3 years at Cardiff Met!I have 19 years of podiatry experience, both in NHS and private settings, and 4 years of leadership experience. I worked a lot with high risk and wound care patients and now I am enjoying biomechanics in my clinic. However, my favourite thing remains as nail surgery. I love the skills showcase and the variety, but mostly the cut and dry fixing of a problem, not helping or maintaining, but fixing. Simon Sinek says that leaders eat last, and that is so true with me. I make sure all my team are nurtured and provided for before myself. I feel this derives from my foundations in Faith, to put others before yourself, and only leave green traces. Lead from a position of care.I have grown my clinic from a single-chair in a rented room, to a team of 5 in our own modern premises, learning lots along the way. I have successfully recruited based on a clear vision for my clinic, and focussing on team work. Together we can achieve anything.Outside of work, I love to be in nature, to sew my own wardrobe, and single my heart out to country music!
