Completing the design and engineering of the latest Lazer Lamps lighting products. This includes leading the optical design and development of reflector and optic components, ensuring that the light output and distribution conforms to UN ECE vehicle lighting regulations.

Assisting with the preparation, production and post-processing of 3D printed models using SLA and powder printers. Alongside rapid prototyping, I have also been involved in 'animating' the parts using model-making skills that I have been acquiring since starting at Hobs Studio.

Brighouse, West Yorkshire

Learning how to use 3D printers, laser engravers and Denford CNC routers with confidence and ease. Use of these machines also allowed me to greatly develop and enhance my ability at using computer aided design software.The job required the attendance of shows such as The Big Bang Fair and Gadget Show Live to help promote and raise awareness of Denford products.I have also assisted with F1 in Schools, attending local and regional events, where I have acted as an engineering judge, as well as the National Finals in London.My involvement also stretched to manufacturing the cars for teams taking part in the competition. Before fabricating these designs, I had to closely analyse them make sure that they had been designed for manufacture; if not, I had to clearly state the required changes to the team. One of the competition rules is that the cars have to be milled using a Denford router, which hugely increased my knowledge of the abilities and limits of the machines, and the software used to program them.

Caterham

Caterham Cars is a lightweight sports car manufacturer. Customers may choose to purchase and build a new car in kit-form. I was assigned the task of helping to update and reformat much of the existing assembly guide used by customers of kit-form cars. I was responsible for re-writing text and improving pictorial content. The task required close attention to detail, computer skills and the ability to communicate with colleagues.
