Principal/Owner of Hancock Resources LLC - a consulting firm that plans and designs equestrian trails, trailheads, campgrounds and facilities. Author of the Federal Highway Administration 300-page publication "Equestrian Design Guidebook for Trails, Trailheads, and Campgrounds" in conjunction with the USDA Forest Service.

I am a national consultant for projects in conjunction with professional architecture, landscape architecture and engineering firms where equestrian expertise is required. I am currently working on the Rathbun Corridor project underway as a phase of the Big Bear Valley Pedestrian, Bicycle and Equestrian Master Plan for MIG, Inc.; the Granite Mountain and Fraesfiled Trailhead design for the City of Scottsdale, AZ McDowell Sonoran Preserve for SmithGroupJJR; the Skyline Regional Park trail system design for the City of Buckeye, AZ; and the USDA Forest Service Region 8 Blanket Purchase Agreement for the Okanogan Trail Construction sustainability design improvements for recreational trails in all 14 Southern Region states, including the island of Puerto Rico.

I serve as the Equestrian Representative on the national Board of Directors for this organization.

I was a founding board member and served as president of the organization for six years. I have been a continuing board member since the founding of the organization, and the 800-mile Arizona Trail became the nation's 9th National Scenic Trail in 2009. I am now serving on the association's executive board.

The Arizona Horse Council is the state's official affiliate of the American Horse Council in Washington D.C. The organization provides political leadership and information resources for all Arizona equestrians and equine organizations. The Arizona Horse Council promotes and protects the equine industry by representing its interests in Arizona and in regulatory agencies on state and national issues of importance, to unify the equine industry by informing industry members of regulations and pending legislation, and by serving as a forum for all member organizations and individuals to advise and inform government and the industry itself of the equine industry’s important role in the Arizona and United States economy.

I left this position when Walsh Bros. was sold to Target Corporate Interiors, and I now focus on my equestrian-oriented consulting work with Hancock Resources LLC.

Jan managed the sales and marketing and supervised sales and support teams in two regional offices, Phoenix, Arizona and Denver, Colorado. Regional states included Arizona, New Mexico, western Texas, Utah, Nevada, Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho, and Montana. Jan was the recipient of the Knoll International Regional Manager of the Year award in 1989.
