Jan works as an IT strategist for large enterprises in Northern Europe giving advice to CIO offices to increase the performance of their IT organisation, maximizing and accelerating the value realization of their investment in technologies and solutions from VMware and others.Since his start in the IT industry in 1982 Jan has had many different positions, focusing on infrastructure. Jan has been working as the IT manager at AGA AB for six years, IT consultant and with operations if IBM mainframes prior to joining Microsoft in 1997.Jan started up the IT enterprise strategy service line at Microsoft in 1997 working with annual advisory services for customers like Scandinavian Airlines Systems, Telia AB, Ericsson and Hewlett Packard.In 2003 Jan switched career in Microsoft do start up the Hosting partner business at Microsoft Sweden. Jan developed skills in understanding the software as a service business model and how service providers and outsourcing companies work. In 2005 Jan moved to the Microsoft Nordic and later Western Europe organization to develop the business further. Jan moved into technical advisory work in service enablement for Microsoft Western Europe.In 2007 Jan moved back to Microsoft Services to work in the IT Architecture and Planning service line. Since 2011 Jan is the Microsoft Services worldwide subject matter expert in smart cities, developing intellectual property for Microsoft city customers.Specialties: Jan has been working most of his time in the manufacturing and telecom/hosting verticals. The last 2 years he specialized in city IT, central government IT and business development. Now the specialization is Cloud computing and end user computing.
