About Jania Ramirez Ucles

I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial and Business Management and a Master’s Degree in International Cooperation Policy from one of the largest international private universities in Japan, where I lived and studied for 3 years, interacting daily in a completely multicultural environment. I have gained governmental and international experience, specifically in public debt management and public investment projects, while working in the Ministry of Finance of Honduras for almost 11 years in positions like Director and Deputy Director General of Public Credit, which taught me to be a leader of a team of approximately 40 people, as well as Head and Analyst of the External Financing Department. From the above mentioned, I have acquired knowledge, experience and skills to contribute in organizations working closely with or in developing nations, and established an extensive personal and professional network; it has also allowed me to travel to various countries around the world and be part of achievements such as Honduras maintaining twice since 2014 a Stand-by Arrangement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the highest credit ratings received since 2017 from Moody’s Investors Service and Standard and Poor’s, and being the first country to be evaluated under the revised Debt Management Performance Assessment (DeMPA) methodology of the World Bank, improving significantly since the last evaluation performed in 2014, as well as presenting significant advances in the use of the IMF’s Government Finance Statistics Manual.
