My name is Jani (pronounced Jay-knee), and I am currently a student at the University of Florida. My high school years were mostly full of playing sports and volunteering whenever I could. I coached many volleyball camps with various aged children and young adults. I spent my Wednesday nights volunteering at my church's food pantry where I had the privilege to meet people from all different walks of life. I was awarded a scholarship from the Bailey Family Foundation due to an excerpt that I wrote regarding a certain soccer camp that I took part coaching. As far as work experience goes, I have been working with Alpha-lit Tampa for about 2 years as a Summer job. This job allows me to see new places and meet new people while enhancing my teamwork and problem solving skills. When I am not working at Alpha-lit Tampa, I am coaching with Gainesville Juniors Volleyball Club. I began this job in 2022, and have finished two official seasons of coaching club volleyball. This job is a fantastic way for me to use my critical thinking skills, leadership skills, and influential ability to direct children toward the most efficient means of performing certain tasks and duties. Being able to influence children in a positive manner has been a dream of mine, and coaching has provided me with an outlet to fulfill that dream. On top of these endeavors, I am also pursuing some other interests of mine which include hosting a radio show, running and planning a podcast, and posting on various social media platforms for an aspiring author.
