I graduated in 2001 with my BSN from the University of Wisconsin. I worked as a RN for several years at the bedside in med/surg and then ICU. I then transitioned to the OR where I worked for 15 years before deciding I wanted more out of my career. In 2015 I took a leap of faith and started my graduate degree at Indiana Wesleyan for nurse practitioner. I graduated in 2017 with my MSN degree and passed my board certification with my family nurse practitioner - certified. Currently, I am work for Optum with UHC where I see members performing risk assessments to target and enhance preventative health outcomes. I believe that education is essential for patient compliance and in teaching about disease states. I am passionate about helping people to achieve their highest level of health and that can only be improved when helping patients to understand their diseases and the benefit of preventative health screenings. I act as a go-to between the member and the health care system and provide referrals in all aspects of health as needed. I am a high energy and extremely motivated individual. I strive to be flexible yet punctual in all aspects of my life and career. It is very important to be able to pivot in this healthcare climate and embrace all the changes that occur in healthcare.
