I care about what happens to our planet. For me, that means tackling big picture problems like climate change and water resources. It also means protecting small creatures like birds, lizards and frogs. Here are five quick things about me and my work:1) I have worked across the full spectrum of the legal field. I have worked for the Australian Energy Market Commission, the Attorney General and Justice Department and Clayton Utz. It’s been an incredible experience to write the law and see it in action. 2) I have worked on a wide range of projects that were likely to significantly impact the environment. Oil rigs, coal mines, coal seam gas projects, ports, roads and urban development. In each case, I have worked with scientists and communities to support transparent, accountable and evidence-based decision-making. 3) I am a law junkie. I love reading cases and figuring out new ways to tackle problems, while keeping what works. I believe knowledge is empowering and experience sharpens our arguments and approach. 4) The most unusual creature I’ve ever worked to protect is the Fitzroy River turtle. Why? It breathes through its butt. Now that’s talent…5) This is how I sum up my job. I protect the environment by advocating for regulatory best practice. We have laws to protect the environment – let’s use them. Period. If you are passionate about carbon policy and biodiversity, let's connect here on LinkedIn.
