I started out as a Data Entry Operator at Pierce County Medical in Tacoma, and moved into the position of being a Claims Examiner for the Medicare Department. After five years I decided to expand my work experience. I worked for Krusteaz in Kent on the production line at the frozen plant for one year. I moved on to work for Harland Clarke in Milton as a Data Entry Operator. I became a Customer Service Representative in the Customer Service Department, and worked there for 18 1/2 years until the company consolidated. I decided that I wanted to go back to school to work in the medical field. I really enjoyed my time at Pierce County Medical, and decided that I wanted to make a career as a Medical Biller and Coder. I am working towards an associates degree in Medical Administrative, and I am very excited to get started in my new career. I have since received my Associates Degree and have been working for TriWest Healthcare Alliance. Some of my job responsibilities include reviewing and entering complex authorizations and referrals from the VA and providers. Working for TriWest Healthcare Alliance has given me great satisfaction knowing that I am making a difference in helping our Veterans with their medical needs.
