I provide bookkeeping services for Murex Consulting Services, an international oil services company. My duties include:* Accounts receivable and accounts payable posting* Bank and credit processing and related reconciliations* Building reports in preparation for tax filings* Coordinating with legal and accounting to complete mandatory corporate filings* Periodic, ad hoc reporting on overall financial positionBookkeeping involves both cash and brokerage accounts in Canadian and US dollars.

My role with Shell Services International was to provide project management and application development skills for projects in the areas of knowledge management; web services; and health, safety, and environment.I implemented a web-based collaboration and document management system for a large division of the company. I then became the system administrator and product consultant. Based on the success of the system, planning began for a North America-wide implementation. I then changed my role from operational to a more strategic focus. In order to make this transition, I documented processes and procedures, trained support staff, and ensured the transfer of knowledge and best practices had taken place. My focus then turned to system improvements in the areas of performance, data reliability, and new functionality.I also led a project to develop a common set of database attributes across all well-related systems. This involved a cross-disciplinary team of geoscientists, engineers, and data management/infrastructure professionals.

I began my career with Conoco in Ponca City, OK as an analyst in the Scientific Applications System Division providing support to users in a Pathworks LAN environment, which included PC, Mac, and VMS users. I developed and maintained a time sheet and invoicing system.After a year in Ponca City, I transferred to Conoco's headquarters in Houston, TX and joined the Business Computer Applications, International group. My responsibilities included the development and maintenance of business applications and interfaces for Conoco's Upstream international subsidiaries. I performed on-site implementation and user-training for a plant maintenance system in Ardalin, Russia for Polar Lights Company, a pioneering Russian/American petroleum development partnership. International work also included on-site visits to Holland, England, and Norway.My international experience extended to a temporary assignment with Conoco Norway, Inc. I implemented a system for financial reporting activities that saved four man-days per month. I also designed and developed interfaces with the corporate general ledger system to electronically extract and feed actuals data.After five years supporting the upstream side of Conoco, I transferred to Conoco's Downstream Information Services division. My responsibilities included the development and maintenance of client/server business applications for Conoco's domestic refineries. I led the design and development of an adhoc query and reporting tool to allow end user analysis of overhead and operating costs. I performed onsite deployment and user training for refinery personnel at Conoco's four plant sites.
