With 20 years’ success in advancement and engagement within the higher education sector, I have established and optimised existing capabilities to maximise the potential of cross-sector collaboration and philanthropy in funding and delivering key organisational aims. Leveraging team strengths while introducing transformational shifts in thinking, I build functions that are aligned with key priorities and united in maximising outcomes. Founding my leadership career in 1993 as a founding member of the ‘Friends of Girton’, created in response to the closure of the local K-12 school, I led a campaign of advocacy to establish Girton Grammar School, continuing a +100 year history in the community. Taking this focus in creating and converting opportunity with me to Woodleigh School and then, St. Johns College, I was subsequently engaged by the newly amalgamated University of Western Sydney in 2006 to build the institution’s first Advancement Office. In 2010, I was privileged to join the University of Melbourne’s largest and most complex faculty as Director, and subsequently, Senior Director of Advancement. With UoM, I have established and continued to grow a leading-edge advancement and engagement capability that has raised millions of dollars to deliver the key aims of the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry & Health Sciences, supported by a strong network of development partners globally and major research links with community healthcare and academic partners. An active Board Member and Advisor, I offer deep expertise across fundraising, marketing, communications, external relations, community and corporate engagement, government relations and governance. I remain a dedicated conduit that empowers visionary institutions to continue their legacies, identifying and realising the value of cross-sector opportunities and strategic advancement.
