- Inspiring communities to value, connect with and care for nature- Delivering the Education for Sustainability program

In my role, I'm proud to lead efforts to raise environmental awareness and facilitate community action. I organize events, create infographics for citizen science projects while working closely with the local Council. I use my creativity and storytelling skills to engage with the audience to stay connected with the natural world. We're also committed to supporting long-term community projects like 'In Our Street' and 'Growing Together'.

Assisted with data collection for citizen science project, community training and event planning.

While pursuing my PhD, I assisted the student support service - Western Success remotely.My tasks include organizing and analyzing large datasets of students, report writing, and processing a high volume of student requests using varied software under minimal supervision. I was able to provide recommendations from the data to aid in student welfare.

I supported undergraduate students in improving their academic writing and study skills through face-to-face consultations at the library. We discussed techniques for developing a convincing argument, and my task involved researching and providing advice on how to structure scientific reports in the field of science and technology. During COVID-19, these consultations became online, where we continued to assist students via Zoom.

I co-founded Project Monkey to engage with the community and stay connected to the wild, natural world through outdoor educational expeditions. Since starting in 2015, we organised multiple field trips for university students and young students to various wildlife reserves in India. My role in this start-up organisation was to assist in planning and executing the activities for these nature trips with a small team.

I joined GreenLine as a Program Officer to assist with environmental campaigns and later was leading the Green Schools Campaign that aimed at raising environmental awareness among school students. I manage a small team and my tasks included strategic planning, development and delivery of the program’s theme and goals; monitoring; managing risk, finances, and budgets; and maintaining stakeholder relationships. I interacted with students (Year 6-9) and designed over 300+ interactive educational presentations and reports for 50 schools around Mumbai in India with our team. During the field excursions, I supported my colleagues in responding instantly to any immediate situation while working with young students. My colleagues were able to rely on me to perform work in a professional manner. I also contributed regularly to the monthly newsletter for schools – GreenRunner and liaised and collaborated with experts and NGOs to get them involved in our outdoor activities and workshops. My reliability and commitment to develop impactful sessions were recognised and appreciated by the schools and students.

I assisted the teaching staff in delivering lectures and tutorials and was involved in preparing the study material for first-year postgraduate students in the Master of Biodiversity, Wildlife Conservation and Management degree. In this course, we explored modules such as biodiversity, ecology, animal behaviour and stakeholder management. I also co-mentored students for their Master's dissertation projects and provided feedback on their work.

PROJECT - Baseline studies on Biodiversity of Thane creek, IndiaI assisted a team of research professionals in biodiversity data collection through tough field conditions for this research project. We performed field surveys, identified mangrove flora and fauna species and further tested the water and soil quality from the samples collected in the creek. We also carried out an extensive literature review and analysed the data to prepare scientific reports for the Forest Department.
