Responsible for planning and directing clinical operations for the Hematology and Hematologic Malignancies Clinics, comprised of >100 clinics/week with 52 providers, 25 RNS and 12 schedulers. Oversaw day-to-day operations, human resources management, and quality assurance activities for the clinic.Clinical Operations • Collaborated with the Hematology and Hematologic Malignancies medical leadership team to define HHM as a distinct department with specific requirements, allowing clinicians to focus on improved outcomes for patient care.• Engaged department in continuous process improvements which improved efficiencies and communication, leading to greater staff and patient satisfaction.• Developed effective communication channels to foster teamwork and effective communication within teams and across the department. • Collaborated with medical leaders, peers and colleagues across SCCA as well as partner institutions (Fred Hutch Cancer Research Center and UW Medical Center) to ensure the provision of high quality, patient and family-centered care in an environment that facilitates clinical research. • Supported and implemented specific customer service goals, financial goals, objectives and quality initiatives consistent with SCAA’s strategic plan and goals. • Managed 6-8% annual departmental growth rate each year between 2015-2019, optimizing resources while continuing to ensure the highest level of care. Nursing and Clinical PracticeDeveloped and implemented a new model of ambulatory oncology nursing care to foster clinical expertise among staff while improving patient care. Developed policy to standardize critical patient education and led institution-wide orientation to promote adherence and improve patient outcomes.

Provided care coordination and education to high-acuity medical oncology patients empowering them to live their highest quality lives, safely, in the outpatient setting. • Utilized strong nursing assessment, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills to assess, triage, educate and offer compassionate care, to patients and families as they navigate complex medical pathways. • Provided education to patients and family members about disease process, treatment regimens and side effects and symptom management. • Facilitated communication between patients and various medical providers and facilities in order to ensure continuity of care.

Developed and coordinated classes/programs for the nursing staff of these units by conducting learning needs assessments and implementing relevant programs to address those areas of needs.
