I am a BACP registered Person-Centred and Integrative Counsellor working towards accreditation and a career in which I can integrate my interests in counselling, research and mental health. I work for a charity providing counselling for young people in Gloucestershire and on a parent support and advice helpline.I also work in Private Practice with adults, young people and with couples. I enjoy the diversity that this offers while benefitting from a growing awareness that the work with each client group informs and enriches my work with the others . The way in which people present with co-morbidity of mental health conditions in both clinical and counselling settings is of particular interest, and suggests the fluid and transdiagnostic nature of mental illness. The increasing recognition that the individual should be viewed holistically and that the biological disease conception has much to learn from, and to offer, the psychosocial view of mental health, makes right now an incredibly exciting time to be getting involved.
