Clinical Director Community Dental ServiceSouth Warwickshire Primary Care Trust Jun 1993 - Apr 2003I was responsible for managing the community and personal dental services within South Warwickshire PCT for ten years. As clinical leader it was my responsibility to undertake annual performance appraisals with the dentists and this was an important element in supporting staff and reviewing clinical ability/skills. I also undertook a variety of general management responsibilities for a wide range of healthcare professionals, to include speech and language therapists, clinical psychologists, physiotherapists, nurses and learning disability services in addition to medical and dental staff.I was also responsible for a number of large projects, including project managing the creation of South Warwickshire PCT, which included a merger of South Warwickshire Combined Care with two Primary Care Groups to become a Primary Care Trust with effect from 1st. April 2002. In this capacity I was directly responsible to the Chief Executive and a Project Board. This project required the co-ordination of seven multi agency and multi professional sub projects and considerable critical path analysis, and strict Prince principals were applied. The project required the co-ordination of a number of important stakeholders within the Trust, PCGs, independent contractors, social services and NHS Executive. In additional public consultation was a major part of the project. It was my responsibility to lead the project and ensure it met all national and local requirements and was completed to strict guidelines that were externally applied. The project was successful.Prior to this project I had managed the Year 2000 project for South Warwickshire Combined Care, this required working with all services and staff within the organization. It also required close working with neighbouring NHS organisations, the police, social services, independent contractors and local authorities to co-ordinate plans across the geographical area.
