From a young age I knew I wanted to have a career as an operasinger. When I was eight, I performed for the first time under the guidance of Andre Rieu.After high school, I decided to completely dedicate myself to music in order to become an operasinger. Therefore, I started a Bachelor of Arts at the Maastricht Academy of Music as a solo-vocalist in the highest vocal range, as a soprano. After instructive years with trainings of Frans Kokkelmans and my first performances as operasinger, I attained the degree of performing musician as well as the degree of qualified music teacher with an A grade.To further qualify and diversify myself as a musician and operasinger, I studied Musical Theatre at the Brabant Academy in Tilburg. This included drama and dance (classical ballet, jazz, tap and street dance) and musical vocals under Edward Hoepelman. One of the highlights during this period was winning the first prize in the televised singing competition "Una Voce Particolare" in 1998.As a soprano operasinger, I tried to gain as much experience and training as possible. Therefore, I have regularly taken part in acting workshops with Christiane Bruhn in Köln. Furthermore, I have participated in the international Opera Masterclass "Acting for Singers" at the Jekerstudios in Maastricht. This masterclass is aimed at young, professional European operasingers. Currently I am under the tutorship of acclaimed vocal coach Gemma Visser.
