WHAT I DO: I am a global motivational keynote speaker, best-selling author, and resilience educator.My purpose is to help you reframe your challenges in life, to embrace your innate resilience, so you can flourish and live to your highest potential.HOW I WORK: As a speaker, I share with my audiences in an interactive way, the tools, and techniques needed to build resilience, and to make a meaningful difference in their lives moving forward, both personally and professionally. Having been an elite athlete and professional aerobatics flying instructor, I use the metaphor of sport and flight during my presentations. I craft each talk so that each member of my audience connects their personal story with mine. I believe that once you see what I call "the Defiant Human Spirit" in another, you can more readily recognize it in yourself. WHY IT MATTERS: Life is tough for everyone, and the challenges, or hills (my unique mindset) we face can seem relentless. I believe that leaning into our greatest fears—embracing the discomfort and the pain—is how we discover our true potential in life.WHAT MAKES ME UNIQUE: While training for the Winter Olympics, I suffered a horrific accident while cross-training on a road bike. With extensive and permanent injuries, I was told I would not walk again, and my athletic career would no longer be possible. I then realized how my athletic mindset could still serve me during my recovery. I decided that if I couldn't walk, then maybe I could fly! I went on to become a commercial pilot and aerobatics flying instructor. I obtained my University Degree, was awarded the Order of Australia, raised three children, became a multi-bestselling author, and was named one of the ‘Outstanding Young People of the World.’ I am an ambassador for Spinal Cure Australia and Red Bull's "Wings for Life" I was the first and only female board member of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA).I have shared my story on platforms like "60 minutes", CNN, HuffPost, and my TEDx Talk, "A Broken Body isn't a Broken Person" has been viewed over 2 million times.
