Janis W. Adams is an Educational Consultant and the CEO/Founder of Academic Achievers Educational Services, Inc. Since 2010, Academic Achievers has offered one-on-one academic support and enrichment for students pre-K through college applications. Academic Achievers also provides credentialed homeschool teachers and curriculum, test prep, as well as KinderPrep® and KinderPrep Camp®.Before founding Academic Achievers, Janis was a high school teacher in both private and public schools in California and Pennsylvania. Her MA and BA degrees are from Pennsylvania State University and her teaching credential is from UCLA.She raised three children who attended Harvard-Westlake, Loyola High School, Harvard University, University of California at Berkeley, University of California at Los Angeles, Harvard Kennedy School, San Diego University School of Law, and USC Marshall School of Business. Janis founded Academic Achievers to provide the best educational support for all students and to encourage children to learn to love learning.Academic Achievers was named "Best Test Prep in LA" by CBS Local and received an "Excellence in Education" commendation by the US Trade and Commerce Association. Academic Achievers won national recognition in 2016 winning the Stevie for women-owned and operated small businesses. Janis was nominated by the SBA as a "Los Angeles Small Business Success Story", and received Los Angeles Business Journal award as a "Women Making a Difference". She received the gold Stevie award twice for Women in Business and a commendation from the County of Los Angeles for her contribution to the educational community.
