I teach special needs students in grades 3-6, working with SLD, autistic, and students with behavioral disorders to succeed in their general education classrooms.

Designs and develops curriculum based on the philosophy of constructionism for use by students (youth under age 18) and teachers using the curriculum in support of several projects aimed at supporting educational communities to integrate systems thinking opportunities and methodologies, using innovative educational practices such as e-textiles, video game design, and computer programming for children. Develops curriculum modules, maintains website content to reflect the goals of the Creativity Labs, and takes the lead on projects, including resource management and coordination and communication between project personnel.

Quest Atlantis (QA) is an international learning and teaching project that uses a 3D multi-user environment to immerse children, ages 9-16, in educational tasks. My job is to ensure that the content is educationally sound and age-appropriate. I also work closely with the game designers and have written some storylines, in addition to creating teaching materials for all online content. In 2011 the QA project was renamed Atlantis Remixed and moved to Arizona State University.

I've written guides and online activities to complement a variety of National Geographic videos and resources, as well as written, edited, and formatted lesson plans and guides for video games and online items produced by the Center on Congress. I've also created assorted guides for the Agency for Instructional Technology. In addition to the link below, more examples of my work are included in Publications.

I serve as curriculum consultant and educational content reviewer at AIT. This involves writing, evaluating, and aligning instructional materials to content standards from all 50 states, as well as creating metadata (such as indexing descriptions and keywords) for digital delivery of video content for education entities such as PBS and Chalkwaves. In addition, I create instructional materials for AIT video products and am currently designing and writing professional development content for instructional coaches and mentors.
