Classical empirical testing is tedious and expensive, and not optimized for maximal information gathering. Trailhead Biosystems uses computerized DoE, executed through robotic media preparation to test the entirety of a multidimensional factor space, then uses MVDA to mathematically model the differentiation space tested and identify effector contributions, effector interaction terms, and definitions of optimal conditions for reaching specific cell fates. Held the Brandon chair of Diabetes Research at the Lerner Research Institute, Cleveland Clinic. My research group was focused on treating diabetes using a cell replacement methodology. Developmental biology, bioinformatics and Stem Cell biology questions were addressed by various members of the lab.
