Jan is a qualified naturopath and herbalist and a registered member of the Irish Register of Herbalists. In clinic, combining scientific knowledge and research with an assessment of her client's condition, medical history and current lifestyle, she designs a comprehensive program for them, including dietary and lifestyle advice and where necessary, safe and effective medicines. Jan has a particular interest in preventative healthcare and is committed to empowering people to take responsibility for their own health. Enabling effective, educated self-care decisions can help to prevent a recurrence of the condition or future health problems.

Wanting to provide her clients with an easy way to increase their daily intake of healthy fruit & veg and enjoy vibrant health and energy, Jan created Gorilla Superfood Powder. A not-for-profit educational project, HerbPatch provides primary schools with Sensory Herb Gardens, bringing the classroom outdoors and allowing children to plant, learn and have fun. Created by Jan, in collaboration with the Irish Register of Herbalists and St. Pat's Teacher Training College, HerbPatch Project also provides Lesson Plans and Activity Sheets to allow easy integration into the curriculum. Jan joined Traidlinks, an Irish not-for-profit company with a vision to diminish poverty in developing countries by inspiring, supporting and promoting enterprise and contributing sustainably and equitably to local and world trade. As a consultant, Jan evaluated suitable companies in Uganda, carried out the necessary due diligence and organised mentoring support from Irish-based business executives and enterprises. In Kampala, she quickly pulled together the support and co-operation of the Ugandan government, banks, local NGO’s and local private businesses, enabling the roll-out of Traidlink’s enterprise support program.

Jan left Novum to set up Seaglobal, an International trading company supplying DIY and electrical multiples worldwide. As co-founder responsible for business development and marketing, Jan built sigificant accounts with pan-European multiple retail chains, including Homebase, Dixons, Focus DIY (UK), Intermarche (France), Bauhaus (Germany), negotiating multi-million dollar deals. She sourced product from Far East manufacturers, managing the supply chain with factories in China to ensure quality (TUV/GS etc), deadlines and packaging and audited Chinese factories both personally and through independent factory auditing bodies. Jan exited Seaglobal in 2007 to focus on her interests in the healthcare and NGO sectors.

Novum (Overseas) Ltd is an International manufacturer and distributor of Refrigeration and Air Care products. Jan joined the company as Business Development Manager responsible for all issues relating to worldwide sales & marketing of air care products. This involved selling directly to large multiple retail chains, managing and expanding distribution chain to new international markets, expanding product range, outsourcing manufacture of product, managing overseas production in China, driving development of new product for launch on international market and revamping the entire marketing concept and material.

Trulife is an international manufacturer of Orthopaedic and Women’s Healthcare products. Jan was responsible for worldwide sales & marketing of full orthopaedic range, managing existing international distributors and appointing distributors in new markets, e.g. Middle East, South America. The role also involved selling directly to international catalogue houses, designing consumer packaging and promotional material, identifing new product opportunities and necessary product improvements through changing core customer needs and managing development of new product line (for sale to pharmacy chains and sports stores) from conception through to launch.

Randox Laboratories Ltd is an International manufacturer and distributor of Diagnostic Reagents. Having joined the company on the 'Euroventure Graduate Program', Jan held the position of Sales & Marketing Executive in the German market, which led to the establishment of the GmbH company.
