Premix- & Procestechnoloog [Dec.2015 – heden]Twilmij, is sinds 2017 een DSM company en produceert meer dan 50kton premix op jaarbasis. Premixen zijn mineraal en vitamine voormengsels voor de diervoeding/mengvoerindustrie. Ik ben bij Twilmij onder meer verantwoordelijk voor het beheren en evalueren van fysisch-chemische kwaliteitsparameters van ingrediënten en premixen. Denk hierbij aan chemische interacties, stabiliteit van bioactieve ingrediënten, maar ook aan fysische eigenschappen zoals homogeniteit, loopeigenschappen en hygroscopiciteit. Als procestechnoloog begeleid ik klanten met inzicht krijgen welke procescondities effecten kunnen hebben op de kwaliteit en stabiliteit van de premix. Daarnaast help ik, wanneer nodig, klanten bij het optimaliseren en troubleshooten van hun processchema wanneer het eindproduct afwijkt van hun kwaliteitsnormen.

In mijn functie als Bioprocess operator ben ik betrokken in het ontwikkelen en optimaliseren van het zeer innovatieve en in-huis ontwikkelde productieproces bij Nutress. Dit proces is een ISO22000 gecertificeerd kwaliteitssysteem.De dagelijkse werkzaamheden houden onder andere in: - Bereiding van kweekmedium- Monitoring van diverse algenkweken - Oogstproces- Droogproces- Verpakken van de diverse microalgen producten. - Werken conform ISO22000 certificering

“Extraction and fractionation of functional proteins from microalgae for potential application in the feed or food industry”.This project was conducted within the biorefinery theme of BPE department, with research focusing on the development of novel biotechnological processes for production of pharmaceuticals, healthy food ingredients, bulk chemicals and biofuels.

Membrane filtration using different membrane types (ceramic, stainless steel and polymeric) with dairy fluids to understand dairy protein separation characteristics and influence of operating parameters on filtration performance.This project was conducted within the process separation group (specialized in Ion exchange Chromatography ) at the Werribee side, which focuses on food processing with an emphasis on dairy.The tasks in this project were:• Microfiltration using ceramic membranes• Analytical techniques such as HPLC and Capillary electrophoresis• Installing and test running of a pilot scale simulated moving bed chromatography systems such as Continuous SEParation (CSEP) technology• Literature research and writing a scientific report (English)
