About Jan Lichtenberg

Turning great science into robust technology, and technology into useful and valuable products for even greater science -- that's my passion as an entrepreneur. With InSphero and Syndya Therapeutics, this passion meets a great purpose: supporting the development of new pharmaceutical therapies to help people lead healthier and better lives. And, if we do it right, we'll do it without animal testing. When I embarked founding my 2nd startup together with Wolfgang and Jens, we knew we where onto something, but could not anticipate how much 3D cell culture and organ-on-a-chip technology would change the way how new drugs are discovered and de-risked. We collaborate with nearly all top 20 pharma companies and leading biotechs to leverage our platform technology and know-how to accelerate their R&D -- for better and safer drugs. Based in Zurich, Switzerland and in Brunswick, USA, 65 employees at InSphero push the boundaries of what's possible in emulating diseased tissue and organs in vitro every day. As Chief Executive Officer and Board Delegate with a 20 year track record in the biotechnology and medical-device industry, I have the honor to pursue an ambitious strategy with an equally ambitious and dedicated team, visionary investors, and brilliant collaboration partners. As a volunteer Board Member at the Society of Laboratory Automation and Screening and as a volunteer mentor for startups in Switzerland and across the globe I love to contribute to the advancement of pharmaceutical and biomedical research. You never know when you need it yourself!

Listed skills include R&D, Biotechnology, Lifesciences, Cell, and 18 others.
