Then, I founded SubWord, a HipHop label for BMG in Germany and lead it to #1 based on Sales in this market segment. I signed and marketed artists like Kool Savas, Eko Fresh, Curse, Raptile and Melbeatz, all of them very successful today. The key was, not to give up in the two first years, where we failed to achieve commercial success with our first signings. After we won the battle to sign the artist Kool Savas, the label took off and was able to position various artists into the same chart breaking region. We also signed label deals with Optik Records, German Dream and Selfmade Records. All these labels were launched through a cooperation with us. The Label was not only known for its chart success and business performance but as well liked by artists and fans for its coolness and zeitgeist of street culture.
