Assisted veterinary students with time management, study skills, and different ways to study for challenging courses

Participated in the College of Veterinary Medicine Summer Scholars Program. • Conducted behavioral tests on mice to investigate deficits after traumatic brain injury. Isolated brain and other organs to measure and compile inflammatory cell profiles via flow cytometry. Presented poster at Boehringer Ingelheim’s National Veterinary Summer Scholars Symposium and College of Veterinary Medicine Research Day.

Worked at the College of Veterinary Medicine. Cleaned the operating rooms, outpatient surgery, dentistry service, anesthesia preparation, and cages, following the Veterinary Medical Center infection control standards. Set up the operating room tables with appropriate packs and surgical equipment.

Participated in the College of Veterinary Medicine Summer Scholars Program. Compiled data on the vaccine adverse events of an ongoing clinical trial using autogenous tumor lysate vaccines combined with immunosuppression blockade in canine glioma. Presented poster at Boehringer Ingelheim’s National Veterinary Summer Scholars Symposium and College of Veterinary Medicine Research Day.

Assisted veterinarians and veterinary technicians with procedures such as venipuncture, blood transfusion, laceration repair, surgery, endoscopy, and CPR. Maintained a sanitary environment in the clinic and surgery room. Cleaned surgical instruments and surgery room after procedures. Developed a written protocol to set up and clean the clinic’s endoscope. Improved written protocol for cleaning and sterilizing specialized ophthalmology surgical instruments. Trained as a receptionist to provide excellent client service.

Provided excellent customer service as a cashier and floor associate.

Cared for boarding dogs and cats including feeding, cleaning, and tracking behaviors. Provided superior customer service to clients as they dropped off and picked up their pets. Trained new employees and produced instructions for cleaning rooms and cat care. C.A.R.E. Associate of the Month for July 2014.

Assisted clients with traumatic brain injury with daily tasks such as medication administration, cleaning, cooking, and physical therapy. Maintained daily records for clients including behaviors, food intake, and activities.

Worked in the Digital Media Services to record events such as concerts, sports events, and high school knowledge competitions.

Assisted graduate students and professors in the Department of Entomology with collecting data on soybean plant growth and populations of aphids, parasitoids, and natural predators of aphids. Organized data into Microsoft Excel spreadsheets for analysis. Aided in the organization of the entomology collection of NDSU.
