Making complex issues and difficult information quicker to understand, stand out more and longer to remember with illustrations, explainers and infographics in a light hearted style. Together with professional co-creators in my network we create for researchers, (local) governments and changemakers.- For scientific and applied researchers -Using visual science communication has several advantages in these four phases: finding funding, conducting research, reporting on (partial) results, and disseminating to society. Especially nowadays, when it’s important for science ‘giving back value’ to society and, having a bigger impact with reliable and profound scientific research. I made different visuals together with scientific and applied researchers. We added animations, infographics, and illustrations to the process of research with good results.For example, showing the most important difficulties around caring for elderly people with a migration background developing dementia.- For local governments and national politics - I'm an administrative clarifier. For municipalities it is important to understand an complex issue quicker to make sound decisions. These clarifying visuals helps in three ways: becoming aware, gaining understanding and support, and moving. Like at the GR Peelgemeenten. There was a challenging issue concerning legitimate care. In two bigger infographics I drew the current situation and the desired future. This way the work of the team around the policy officer became more easy.Often I work together with administrative research team of IdeeVersa, they conduct research for governments at the intersection of policy, governance and finance. - Changemakers and green entrepreneurs - I clarify unclear matters with images for sustainable companies and projects. A clear image can be: a vision, a visual overview in the transition of an organization or visuals being part of the corporate identity.As I did for Anke Boereboom of Stemgebruik.nl. Together we visualized the fear system in an infograph and made illustrations and icons showing the services she provides.- Janna Kool -As a visual thinker, I convert information into images all day long. And I made that my job. Since the art academy, more than 10 years ago, I have been working as a self-employed in visual communication. My network consists of different experts; copywriters, web builders, illustrators, PR experts, graphic designers and researchers.
