Film making per se is actually not a passion of mine. My aim is rather to make people aware of and discuss problems of existential and/or societal importance. I think every discussion benefits from an artistic approach, which for me implies working exclusively with drama as my way of expression. On the other hand, art for art's sake is of limited interest to me. In my opinion having a cause ennobles film making or any other cultural work, as long as you don't allow the cause a programmatic expression. It's all about entering the condition of being human into the discussion.Practically this means that I make films for people with specific reasons to deal with the matters in question. Mostly the target group is people working professionally with the problems my film illustrates. So far I have adressed people mainly within the health care system or the criminal justice authorities. I finance my films mainly through organisations, companies and authorities dealing with the matter in question. To do so is highly beneficial when it comes to distribution; organisations who have put money in a film have a definite interest and most often a plan to spread it. But some of my films have been broadcasted by the Swedish public sevice company, SVT, as independent productions in their own right.A selection of subjects I've made films about: palliative care (documentary), organ donation (drama documentary), ethics of health care (drama) and the treatment of prisoners (drama documentary).So I leave the romantic comedies for others to make.
