"Design is not how it looks, it's how it works."This mantra is why I'm the co-founder of Henosia, a design tool that edits code while you design. It is a new category of design tools (code-native), that much better support the design-development collaboration and fixes what is wrong with the two existing design tool categories of today:Vector tools:- Most designs are largely static, while the medium it's designed for is dynamic (code)- Any dynamic elements are only emulated, and won't work the same in code- Just because it can be drawn doesn't mean it can be coded- Hardly any support for all the "hidden" aspects of design (all the things your developer comes and asks afterwards, that you forgot to think about)No-/low-code tools:- Has vendor lock-in that prevents you from taking your design into another tool- Same vendor lock-in is why companies don't want their IP in those tools- Code from these tools is usually not production quality- Can only push code to a code repository, they cannot read from the same repositoryAll this is why the designer-developer handoff gap still hasn't been solved and why we want to deliver a world class design experience to designers, directly in code.Given that design is how it works, design needs to be code-native!Yes, eventually we want to be a Figma alternative. If this piqued your interest, please do reach out, I'd be happy to chat.
