Supporting activities at start-up mobile presentation space of NIMk.Production, tour, planning, managing volunteers.---Planet M is the new mobile space and lab for media art and digital culture. It travels to festivals, schools and healthcare institutions with a diverse new media program. Planet M was designed by Michiel Kluiters in collaboration with Arno Pronk. Thanks to the support of the Amsterdam Fund for the Arts, Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds (Lindenweij Fund), Stichting Doen, Mondriaan Stichting, Stichting Kunst en Openbare Ruimte, VSBfonds and SNS REAAL Fund, we can develop this special object. Our regular partner BeamSystems supports the technical construction. During this tour, which takes place in the Netherlands (and occasionally abroad), we visit schools, festivals and healthcare institutions. There we show what media art is and how artists and new technologies influence each other. With programs and artworks specially made for Planet M, we want to give further substance to our mission, to propagate and stimulate Media Art.In 2010, the Netherlands Media Art Institute (NIMk) commissioned Michiel Kluiters to design a media art mobile with which the NIMk wants to travel to schools and festivals in mid-2011 with a diverse program of workshops, media art installations and videos.

Musea en instellingen profileren zich in 2011 als nooit tevoren, het zijn complete communicatiefabrieken geworden met een goed onderhouden Facebook-pagina, Twitter en indrukwekkende websites.De informatie die in een QR-code kan worden gepresenteerd kent diverse invullingen en dit biedt veel mogelijkheden voor musea. De codes lijken een kleine toevoeging, maar kunnen de bezoeker een scala aan nuttige extra achtergrondinformatie bieden.Dit onderzoek beoogt in het algemeen voor de erfgoedsector een interessante invalshoek te bieden, en specifiek voor M, Museum van Leuven in België (M), een verbetering aan te brengen in haar publieksbereik.

Het onderzoek was onderdeel van Culture Vortex, een innovatieprogramma om publieke participatie in online culturele collecties te stimuleren. Het onderzoek is uitgewerkt in samenwerking met Lorena Zevedei.
