As part of my Managing Director position for Metsäkonepalvelu Oy, I also received a full profit and loss responsibility for its subsidiary Kone-Yijälä Oy in Central Finland. Similar to Metsäkonepalvelu, Kone-Yijälä also provides timber harvesting services for client companies in the forest and sawmill industries.

As Managing Director, I had a full profit and loss responsibility of Metsäkonepalvelu Oy (MKP). MKP is a family-owned forestry contracting company. Its main business is to provide timber harvesting services for client companies in the forest and sawmill industries in Finland and Sweden. The company has approx. 170 employees and more than 100 forest machines. Kone-Yijälä Oy (Jämsä, Finland) and MKP Sverige AB (Eksjö, Sweden) are 100% owned subsidiaries of MKP.

I was the director for John Deere Forestry's retail sales operations in Europe, including the following operations and the related staff: John Deere Forestry Oy's own retail companies in Finland, Sweden, Norway, UK and Ireland; external dealer network in Europe and distribution development. The scope of the business included new and used machine sales, finance, spare parts, service, customer training and other aftermarket services.

During this period, the company's new projects and marketing activities focused to South America and China.

I started at Metso Minerals Oy's (today: MetsoOutotec) marketing and sales promotion department but moved in 1994 to an Area Sales Manager role for Asia-Pacific (focus on Japan and South Korea) for Metso's stationary and mobile crushing and screening equipment as well as mining equipment. From 1998 to 2000, I had these same responsibilities for North and Central America on an expat assignment in Milwaukee, WI, USA. After returning to Tampere, I was responsible for sales in German-speaking Central Europe.
