Combining a love of Architecture and Model design, Tinytecture creates miniature worlds and models. Recently, we built a miniature kitchen set that was demolished and renovated to create an ad campaign with Butterbar for SoFi. The video proved to be a massive success, with over 3.5 million views in a fortnight.

Smoke and Mirrors explores the intersection of stage sets, miniatures, architecture and narrative driven design. Utilising spatial analysis of film sets and literature, the animated artefacts are a product of the digital and physical born from rapid prototyping (laser-cutting), digital fabrication techniques and model-making.Teams were tasked with designing and fabricating an animated set model based on sourced material. Using techniques and discussions learnt over the course of 12 days, they explored the use of model making and designing through the lens of a camera. Highly detailed models were creating using a mixture of intricately laser-cut pieces, hand modelling, and lights and motors.This studio was led by Jannette Le, and tutors Michael Mack, Mond Qu and Denis Vlieghe and shows independent scenes that centralise around the wizarding world of magic.

Tectonic Grounds is a summer intensive run by UDMK (Jannette Le & Mond Qu) and Denis Vlieghe in the University of Melbourne, Melbourne School of Design. Over a two week period, UDMK shows students how to fabricate a 1:1 scale pavilion using rapid-prototyping techniques (laser-cutting, 3D printing) and Arduino.

Working directly with Blair Gardiner to assist in coordination and organisation of a core 3rd year subject in the Bachelor of Environments. Construction Design serves as the capstone technology subject for this degree, with approximately 280 students enrolled in the subject.Core Accountabilities Include:- Delivering Lectures and related content- Delivering tutorials - Maintaining relationships and meetings with students - Assisting in the organisation of tutorials and lectures- Coordinating tutors for the subject- Coordinating further skills lessons for the subject- Running two tutorial sessions per week for one semester- Marking and grading- Interviewing and selecting tutors for the subject- Coordinating with industry for site visits and product information for students

From small-scale furniture to large-scale speculation, UDMK looks at translating the intangible to the material, crafting the now, and becoming the digital blacksmiths of the future

Archinauts was founded in 2013 to explore art and architecture in project based collaborations. The members of Archinauts shift and recalibrate to meet the needs of the project at hand with maximum flexibility. So far we have successfully pitched for the design and fabrication of a public artwork for the City of Maribyrnong. We look forward to further opportunities for collaboration.

As the office manager and as a key member in the management team, this role was focused on HR outcomes, financial planning and project planning. This role was fulfilled in an interesting time of expansion for the office, where the firm grew from a medium sized 15 person firm to a 30 FTE design office.Core accountabilities included:- Preparing and issuing all invoices for office projects- Setting up project cash flows and liaising with clients to ensure projected incomes- Projected income plans for all office projects- Coordinating Monthly office meetings including preparing reports for office business meetings- Office Budget projections including collating office overheads and hours- Marketing and media liaising- Occupational Health and Safety, Work Health and Safety coordination- Preparing tenders and registrations of interests for the firm- Managing director’s timetables

Architectural Assistant work included general office duties and assistance to the directors, as well as assisting project and senior architects in projects, including CAD work and 3D work in Rhino 4. This included presentation work using the Adobe Suite, liaison with clients, suppliers, and trade representatives.Projects worked include:- Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School Senior School (Contract Documentation, Town Planning, Contract Administration)- Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School Boys Junior School (Contract Documentation) - Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School Boys Middle School (Competition, Schematic Design) - Wynnstay House 13 – Directors Home, product research, contractor coordination, etc.- The Quays, Display Suite documentation, client liaison, joinery documentation- Avondale Heights (Sketch Design)- Footscray Central Activities District (Presentations)- Expression of Interest Documents (EOI’s)

SONA is the student arm of the Australian Institute of Architects. This included setting an agenda for the group to pursue, managing budgets, being an advocate for students in Institute committees and the wider architectural community. This was a voluntary position, and I was voted in by other universities in 2009. My core accountabilities included:- Managing and leading 21 University representatives for each architectural program in Australia- Setting national goals for SONA in terms of advocacy, leadership, and engagement within the profession- Managing national events such as SuperStudio the 24 hour design competition- Liasoning with major sponsors such as BlueScope Steel, Dulux and AutoDesk- Managing our key deliverables to our membership to ensure they had value for money- Representation in key stakeholder meetings and committees concerning Australian students in Architecture- Managing any direct grievances in our 2000 member bodyAs part of my role, my key achievements included:- Streamlining of our offerings to the membership and re-iterating the core values of SONA- Creating a new membership model, meaning reduced savings for students to bring us on par with other professional student groups- Addressing the declining membership rate by offering a free membership for first year students to have them engaged in the program and offerings of SONA, thereby increasing the retention of members as they became full time members of the Institute.As part of this role I also sat as a Director of the Australian Institute of Architects, a member of the National Education Committee and the National Sustainability Committee.
