Jann Freed, PhD, is a Leadership Development and Change Management Consultant with The Genysys Group. She assists organizations and individuals in making purposeful change. Jann does this by facilitating vision based strategic planning and executive coaching. Her focus is on helping organizations and individuals get from where they are to where they want to be. She developed a concept called Breadcrumb Legacy ™ presented through keynotes and interactive workshops designed to develop leaders, engage employees, and find meaning regardless of age or stage of life or career. Jann's latest book is titled Leading With Wisdom: Sage Advice from 100 Experts. This book is based on more than 100 interviews with thought leaders in the field of leadership. In addition to being active at Central Presbyterian Church, Jann is on the Planning and Zoning Commission for the city of Des Moines and a director on the Bank Iowa Board. She is also a Vistage Resource Speaker which consists of Private Advisory Boards for CEOs, executives, and business owners. Jann Freed is professor emerita of business management and the former Mark and Kay De Cook Endowed Chair in Leadership and Character Development at Central College where she had a 30-year career. Now, Jann teaches a graduate leadership course for the University of Iowa. She often shares what she is thinking and learning about leadership in the Business Record and Training Magazine. She is the author of several books including Women of Yucatan: Thirty Who Dare To Change Their World, has a bilingual photography exhibit to accompany the book that has been displayed in more than 30 public spaces in Iowa since 2000—particularly in communities with growing Latino populations.
