I have implemented the various pedagogies throughout my teaching journey in Singapore Polytechnic. Pedagogy for the Professions, Flipped Classroom, Blended Learning and Holistic Education for teaching and learning. All these pedagogies wouldn’t make meaning to the students without the passionate teaching staff in SP who wants to make a difference.

Having a keen interest in design, I have also had the opportunity to learn Design Thinking and Innovation in Singapore Polytechnic. My project was to create an innovative product for Polar puffs. My project team huddled together for 5 months to come out with the product called ‘Puffilicious’ that we pitched to the client. Healthy curry puffs for the busy, health-conscious working adults!I am always keen in the Professional Adult Education area, having developed and conducted courses to adults learners. My specialized areas are in web development, from HTML/CSS/Javascript to Bootstrap and Wordpress. They are good skills for working adults to up-skill themselves or to add value to their existing company.

As a Course Manager, I have worked with industry partners to review the relevancy of the courses. I have managed student admissions and refinement of curriculum through collaboration and taking feedback both from graduates and industry. I have lead teams in the processing of examinations, organisation of examiner’s board meetings as well as generation and sense-making of a few assessment results as part of our Academic Support team.

As a lecturer, I have been teaching Front-end development using HTML/CSS/Javascript, Interaction design using prototyping tools like Adobe XD, Multimedia Authoring using Director & Flash. Back-end development using MySQL, PHP, Angular, Javascript, MongoDB. I dabbled in Web Design using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. As a digital immigrant, my students have taught me many emerging technologies that they have used as a digital native. They have taught me to set the bar higher in the curriculum and they relish the challenge I set for them. The kids are resilient as I’ve seen so many of them overcoming adversity to rise above it to do well. I draw energy from the rapport built and relationships formed with students both inside and outside the classroom.

Engagement with alumni, past and prospective. Leading to deliver outreach activities designed to encourage and attract potential students passionate to work in the IT industry. Currently, as a Lead in Outreach team, I bring awareness to our school’s capabilities through organizing events and working with secondary school to further our partnership in the IT arena. So far I have the opportunity to speak at Parent’s Forum for the school, done course counselling at Open House. Have also planned and executed a social media campaign for the soft launch of our school in Instagram which have reached 500 likes from 124 likes in 3 days.
