About Jan Prasil

Jan is an Energy Policy Professional with knowledge of energy governance in the EU and electricity markets. As Director of new energy technologies at the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic, he is focused on innovative solutions to sustainable energy: small modular reactors, hydrogen, energy research. He has been Chair of the Czech Working Group on Small and Medium Sized or Modular Reactors and led the work on Czechia’s SMR Roadmap. Previously, he worked as a Senior EU Regulatory Affairs Specialist at CEZ, Energy Policy Officer at the Government Office of the Czech Republic, and adviser to Czech members of the European Parliament in Brussels. Jan graduated from the University of Munich with an MA in Political Science, Philosophy, and German. In addition, a post-graduate program in Corporate Law with an LLM from the Nottingham Trent University. He also holds a certificate in International Nuclear Law from the University Montpellier.
