Jan is an award-winning writer of music for Film and TV and has written songs for legendary singers Cyndi Lauper, Darlene Love, Steps, Eurovision, Kat Dyson, Felicia Collins, and jazz great Chico Freeman. During her long career she played keyboards for the Thompson Twins and toured the world with Cyndi Lauper. She ran her own production company in the USA and has never stopped breaking the barrier for women in music technology. She has engineered, programmed, and produced music for over 100 albums including Cyndi Lauper’s iconic ’Sisters of Avalon’ album and was an early beta tester for Logic Audio. Her song 'Early Christmas Morning', co-written and performed by Cyndi Lauper has had almost 12 million streams on Spotify.Living in East Anglia for the past 13 years Jan continues mixing art and music. Her ambient music world is played daily on Radio Mothership, a stream she runs for the local music community in Woodbridge, birthplace of the father of ambient music, Brian Eno.She has provided music for gallery installations in London with David Begbie, Nashville with David Turner and Virtual Worlds in San Francisco. In 2018 she lit up Woodbridge’s iconic Tidemill with lights and live music as co-producer of the Woodbridge Beowulf Festival. A repeat performance was cancelled due to Covid and so she produced the Arts Council supported Spirit of Place series - seven small events spread out to celebrate the return of LIVE music and to lift the spirit of Woodbridge and beyond after the last 18 months. In December 2021 she teamed up with Clare Perkins again to put the Spirit of Christmas on the Tidemill - a 3D Son et Lumiere featuring local music and a great way to end the Spirit of Place series and 2021!In September 2022 she produced the first Woodbridge Ambient Music Festival weekend, introduced by Brian Eno - a sold out success. The story continued into 2023/24 and now the Autumn Equinox of 2025 is looming for another gathering of ambient and electronic music in Woodbridge, Suffolk.
