As the CFO at Pride Source Media Group, I help to build bridges between communities. When Between The Lines and Pride Source Media Group were originally founded, they were pursuing two primary goals: to distribute news in an efficient, honest way that represented the LGBTQ community’s interests, and to have a way to easily organize the community as activists. I was finding that too much information was being filtered through traditional media in a way that didn’t bring the LGBTQ community together. At the time, the world was putting business ahead of politics and people - and I wanted our publication to change the tides. Now, with the ever-shifting social and political landscape, Pride Source has an additional goal: to build a bridge between the thriving LGBTQ community in Michigan, and the businesses who want to support them. We work with hundreds of companies to create advertisements directed toward supporting and engaging the LGBTQ community, with fantastic results. Dozens of advertisers have been with us for over 10 years - a testament to the success of their campaigns.Many businesses are interested in showing their support and connecting with the LGBTQ community but aren’t sure how to go about it.
