However, during winter the weather conditions could become so extreme that certain ports were closed due to ice. This of course required careful planning and flexible solutions.The Med-trade had generally better weather but due to many loading/discharging ports, available space and customer's requirements often collided so apart from planning, a careful commercial approach was necessary.
