DIMI is positioned between academic level research into the management of innovation and the implementation challenges of introducing new concepts to management. The prime benficiaries of its results have always been the projectmanagers/partners involved in the research. Most of these have used the interaction with DIMI, through projects, education, PhD's or otherwise, in their career. Presently our focus is the further development of tools for use in the complexity of innovation and the integration of the experience of senior managers into our toolbox. The innovation of the financial management of new ventures is typically such a topic, where these come together. Experienced and selfsupporting input is always welcome.

VIC, Virtual Industry Concepts, is an implementation vehicle for Virtual Industry based projects and ventures, often with a role in actively managed venturing. Virtual Industry is an extended concept base on the Virtual Corporation presented by Davidow in 1992. It is also related to the later introduced Open Innovation concept, but is of a more general scope and more suited to managing startups and venturing.

OpenXperience is a Thinktank that bundles and integrates multi-disciplinary experience of its members. Main topics are presently Innovation and Valorisation. Our discussions cover a broad area from policy to education, from startups and venturing to technology assesment a.o. OpenXperience is supported bij DIMI, the Dutch Institute of Management & Innovation.

TMM partners 2.0 Technology Matching & Management is the direct descendant of TMM partners coöperative. After 15 years as a coöperative, TMM partners was reintegrated into its founder VIC in view of changed market-, technology- and financial reality. Outside partners should be more attracted by direct project value and the project governance structure should reflect that.Future projects and partner relations will be more focussed on quality and organized along project value & -design lines. External partners will have the same sharing in value and investment, but need not participate or invest outside their direct/short term interests. TMM will be supported from DIMI, VIC and, if appropiate, by VI Ventures.

iHIT developed tools and methods for individual High Intensity Training.

Licentec was a combination of active project management and seed capital fund management. A true pioneer in the Netherlands, which still provides the field with important experience through its former project managers.

The university, as a part-time A.P., provided me with a return to academic level research & education. Based on my experience in industry I was able to interact with the most multidisciplinary students of the university and the innovative companies where they did their Masterthesis. The combination of Technology and Application has since been my focus in developing management concepts. The founding of DIMI and TMM partners, a number of publications while in Delft, as well as a number of new ventures are grounded on the work we did at the university and during the period.
